Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 September 2026

The short version

Newsei is free to read and does not require an account. We do not sell personal data. We keep the smallest amount of information needed to run the site.

What we store

  • Nothing about you by default. Reading Newsei does not create a profile, and there is no reader sign-up.
  • Your chosen topics are saved in your own browser only (local storage). They never reach our servers and are cleared when you clear your browser data.
  • Editorial content — headlines, links and summaries from public news feeds — is stored on our servers. That is content, not personal data.
  • Staff sign-in. A single editorial account exists for site administration. Its email and session data are handled by our hosting provider.

Cookies and similar technology

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and local storage entries: your topic preferences and your acknowledgement of the cookie notice.

Advertising

Newsei may display advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense. Where ads are shown:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.

Analytics

Basic, aggregate traffic measurement may be provided by our hosting platform. It is used to understand page performance, not to identify individuals.

Third parties we rely on

News publishers whose public feeds we index, our hosting and database provider, and (when advertising is enabled) Google. Following an outbound link takes you to that publisher's own privacy practices.

Children

Newsei is a general-audience news site and is not directed at children under 13.

Your choices

Because we hold no reader accounts, there is normally nothing to delete. You can clear your locally stored preferences at any time through your browser settings. For any privacy question, use the contact details on our About page.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
